Uniforms
Beginning in Fall 2025, jerseys are not included in the registration fee and are required to purchase separately each fall season. Jerseys are $25 each and players may purchase up to two. Players will wear the same uniform for fall and spring. If a player transfers to a new team between fall and spring seasons, a new jersey will need to be purchased.
Teams may choose to provide their own jersey in lieu of a SCCYSA issued jersey.
Shorts and socks should be purchased separately. Matching uniforms must be worn for every league match even in cold/hot temperatures. In the event of cold weather, players may dress in cold weather gear appropriate for the weather conditions. Jerseys must be worn over the top of cold weather gear.
Warm-ups including pants, sweatshirts, jackets, hoodies, hats, and gloves may be worn as long as they do not contain hard, sharp, or metal objects. If jackets with hoods or hoodies are worn, hoods must remain tucked into the garment for the entire duration of the game.
Player Equipment
All players must have shin guards, socks, and soccer cleats or tennis/running shoes for all practices and games. Metal cleats are prohibited; socks must be worn over shin guards. All players should bring a ball to pratice. Please see the Rule Matrix for soccer ball size requirement for your age group.
Jewelry of any sort is not allowed; no necklaces, rings, bracelets or earrings will be worn. Players may not tape over jewelry.
Serious injury can result from jewelry, especially earrings. FIFA provides an exception for medical alert bracelets, medical alert necklaces, and religious necklaces; these may be worn but must be taped down to the skin for all of these items and under jerseys for necklaces.
