A server starts 25 yards out a some balls at his feet. There is one attacker and one defender in the 18 and a keeper in goal. Also, there are two other servers at the corners of the 18.

The attacking player in the box (yellow) makes a run to get open and the server plays the ball in to this player.
If the receiving player can turn and shoot, that would be the first choice.
If he can't shoot, he can lay the ball back to any of the three servers.
The server is then limited to one touch and can either shoot, find the player in the box or pass to one of the other servers.
By giving the option to shoot, it forces the defender to pressure the ball and will open up space for the runner. The runner must be aware of an offside call on this second pass/
By giving the option to pass to another server (who is also limited to one touch and has the option of shooting or finding the runner but can not pass to another server), it's puts starts to force the player in the box to really think about their use of space and also not just to pass the ball but to also look to pass the ball back in a way that influences the next ball (for example, laying the ball back but into space for the shot or into space for the ball to be played across to the other server/

This is a great activity to train the target players in small group training.
FOR YOUNGER AGES ENCOURAGE MORE TOUCHES OR MOVES.
